Brit Asia TV witnessed the biggest drop in UK ratings in its history, according to official weekly reach data for Sunday 18th September 2016.
According to BARB, Brit Asia TV recorded a reach of just 49,000 viewers (last week 109,000 viewers) – making it the least watched Asian entertainment channels in the UK during the week. On the opposite end, Star Plus remained the UK’s first choice for Asian entertainment with 882,000 viewers (last week 916,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 745,000 viewers (last week 620,000 viewers) and &TV with a record high reach of 718,000 viewers (last week 534,000 viewers). Star Gold was in fourth with 663,000 viewers (last week 502,000) and Zing attracted 541,000 viewers (last week 351,000 viewers).
The next tier consisted of Rishtey with 493,000 viewers, Hum TV with 433,000 viewers, SAB TV with 389,000 viewers, Colors with 373,000 viewers, Life OK with 355,000 viewers, Prime TV with 318,000 viewers and Geo TV with 249,000 viewers.
The bottom tier consisted of ATN Bangla with 228,000 viewers, followed by PTC Punjabi with 198,000 viewers, PTV Global and Sikh Channel with 176,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 130,000 viewers.
ARY News continued to do well in the South Asian news genre in UK with 542,000 viewers (last week 418,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 385,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 271,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 267,000 viewers and SAMAA TV with 242,000 viewers. NDTV 24×7 fetched 222,000 viewers, followed by Aaj Tak with 162,000 viewers, ABP News with 85,000 viewers and Times Now with 21,000 viewers. News18 stayed low with just 13,000 viewers.
