Punjabi films have suddenly attracted a lot of global attention and everyone is running towards either making a Punjabi movie or bagging a role in one of the feature films being made.
Bollywood has been smitten by the Punjabi bug and the fact, that this regional cinema fills their money bags to the rim, cannot be denied. On our end, 2016 surely has been a good year for our industry. With super hit films like Ardaas, Love Punjab, Sardaarji 2 and the latest one being Bambukat, Punjabi cinema has proved that Punjabism is going to go a long way.
Those times, when the makers of Punjabi films used to request people to go to the theatre to watch their movies was a memory shared by Harbhajan Mann during an interview with GhaintPunjab. He said, “We used to promote our films door to door because there was no media support and no one wanted to watch Punjabi movies but now times have changed and I am happy that I was a part of that change.”
With the success of Udta Punjab triggering greater interest in cinema of the region, the industry has more keen watchers than before.
