The Punjabi short film makers have become very active lately and talking about the talented makers from Panj Teer Records, they always try and get something for their audiences which helps in bringing ,a positive transformation in the society, as a whole.
After a handful of successful projects, Director Pardeep Singh has highlighted the topic of environmental pollution with his latest release titled ‘Mata Dharat’.
As per the description mentioned on the video, ‘Gurbani tells us to respect and love the nature but this message is widely ignored by Sikh masses as well as Gurdwara Committees who fire the crackers to celebrate Gurpurabs. While pointing out that such practises cause pollution and harm the nature this film tells us to abandon such practises and follow the message of Guru Sahibs and realise the meaning of ‘ ਪਵਣੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਮਹਤੁ || (Pavaṇ gurū pāṇī piṯā māṯā ḏẖaraṯ mahaṯ)’.’
As rightly mentioned above, the religious institutions have been using crackers for celebrating various festivals which in itself is a harmful practice for nature, and we totally agree with the vision behind making this film.
Released on the official channel of Sikhnet Youth Online Film Festival, this 10 minute 56 seconds long film has been shot by Daas Media Works and produced by Panj Teer Records & The 26 Production.
